The Organising Committee of the 44th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey and the Turkish Cycling Federation take great pleasure in welcoming you to participate the 44th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey which was upgraded from 2.2 to 2.1 by UCI in 2008. Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey was started to organize in 1968.
The Tour will be run as a UCI 2.1 category in one grand prix and seven stages starting in Istanbul on 13 April and finishing in Alanya on 20 April, 2008. Tour of Turkey will start with Grand Prix in Istanbul and take place in the Route between Izmir and Alanya, where the Mediterranean coast, historical places and our country’s landmarks provide the backdrop for the tour. The Race will be staged at the Izmir, Kuşadası, Bodrum, Marmaris, Ölüdeniz, Finike and Antalya. Tour of Turkey follows International Cycling Union protocols and as such will be run in accordance with UCI Competition Rules. This year the Tour adopted a new face, with live broadcast of 2 hours for every stage and becomes the most important promotion of Turkish tourism and Turkish beauties. In the same way the concept of the Tour emerges as “Turkish Beauty” where special sprint bonuses will be awarded for the riders.
